Brexit- Swedish Customs
Since Brexit, Swedish Customs are now returning most of the packages we send, so sending live bedbugs to Sweden is no longer a viable option. The advice Swedish customers have been given by Swedish Customs seems to vary. Some have been told that they need an import license, but nobody has successfully managed to obtain one so far.
For the time being, the options for Swedish customers are as follows:
1. Obtain the relevant import license so that you can purchase live bedbugs from the Uk. We are happy to include whatever paperwork is necessary, but from the Uk it has not been possible to determine what paperwork Swedish Customs requires to allow our packages through.
2. Ship to an alternative address within the EU. Currently we have no problems shipping to other parts of the EU. If you have a friend or relative in that can forward the package for you, this may be the easiest option for the time being.
3. For Bed Bug Foundation members, we have a BBF director in Germany who has kindly offered to forward packages to Sweden. This adds about 5 days to the shopping time. BBF membership costs 35 Euros per year. You are not obligated to certify with the BBF to benefit from this service. You can sign up for BBF membership here: https://www.bedbugfoundation.org/membership-join/
Apologies for the inconvenience. We will let you know if we become aware of a better solution. Thank you.
We have been working with the Department for International Trade in the UK to ensure that our paperwork is compliant with new customs requirements.
Update 14/4/2021: We have been experiencing delays with orders to Germany and Sweden, due to new customs checks. Please get in touch with us for tracking information if you are concerned about your order.
Thank you to our customers who have helped us to translate our information labels into French and German to enable a speedy transit through customs.
Live insects are sent by Royal Mail because courier companies will not handle live insects internationally.
Cimex Store regularly ship bedbugs all over the World, but primarily Western Europe, USA and Canada. For most countries there are no restrictions on the importation of bedbugs, because they naturally occur in virtually every country we ship them to! Please check import restrictions for your country, prior to ordering.
Please note: We are unable to ship live bedbugs to Norway without an import licence.
Delivery to most parts of Europe and US takes 7-10 working days from dispatch, there are no guarantees for this service.
